“The Sun Game” is a wonderful tool to teach children about the importance of the sun in our lives. Through this activity, they can visualize how all living beings depend on the sun in different ways. For example, plants use sunlight to grow, and then herbivores feed on them, while carnivores depend on herbivores. It is an excellent first step to introduce the concept of the food chain.

This material is typically used for ages 3–6 years. However, you can simplify or expand the lesson, based on the child’s understanding. You can also use the animal miniatures to sort animals into herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores when studying this classification in biology lesson.
The mat measures 50 cm in diameter and is made of 100% cotton fabric with OEKO-TEX certification. Machine washable (30ºC). The set includes 50 miniatures (plants, herbivores, carnivores and omnivores) and a control chart (PDF file) to help to classify the animals.
